About Central Baptist Church

Central Baptist Church is an Independent Baptist Church that is unaffiliated with any organization, denomination or convention. We are a fundamental, conservative, autonomous and self-governing body.

We believe in preaching the gospel of Christ throughout the world; scripturally baptizing true believers; and teaching the whole counsel of God’s Word for the edification of God’s people.

We encourage everyone in the area to come and visit Central Baptist Church! We welcome fellow believers to come and worship with us, and we welcome those who do not know our Lord to come and learn what the Bible says about who Jesus Christ is.

Church Facilities

Church Sanctuary

We have a total of 9,000 sq. ft. of building space. 3,000 sq. ft. belongs to the newly constructed sanctuary that seats 240. The sanctuary is equiped with a professional-grade sound system for optimal accoustics.

Church Nursery

We have a fully-staffed and newly rennovated nursery with a paging system.

The building which used to serve as our sanctuary now serves as our fellowship hall, where we invite church members and visitors to come and fellowship with us over lunch and dinner banquets from time to time.

First Missionary Baptist Church filed documents with the State of Florida to become a recognized church in the area called “Wright, FL” just outside the city limits of Fort Walton Beach, FL on January 18, 1967. On December 8, 1972 the church officially changed their name to James Lee Road Baptist Church. The church purchased all of the property that was available on the corner of James Lee Road and Bob Sikes for future expansion. On January 2, 1982 the church met and voted to once again change their name. The new name was to be Central Baptist Church and the congregation has held that name unto the present day.

Church GroundbreakingOn May 7, 2007 the church held an official groundbreaking ceremony for the purpose of constructing a new 6,000 sq. ft. auditorium and lobby area with church offices to be added. Completion came two years later and with the expansion came a new auditorium, nursery, lobby area and office building. God has blessed Central over the years and receives all of the glory for His mighty works.
